Product Description

Valve Type: Wafer butterfly valve Structure: Concentric
Standard: EN593 Workmanship: Investment casting
Sealing Direction: Bidirectional Sealing Grade: Zero leakage
Temperature: -20°C < T < 120°C Operation: Handle / Lever
Characteristics

The inner cavity of the valve body and the surface of the butterfly plate are fully covered with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) material, which has extremely strong chemical stability and can withstand most strong corrosive media including concentrated sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and nitric acid. The temperature resistance range can reach -196 ℃ to 200 ℃.

Advantages
  • ① Small Opening and Closing Torque, Easy to Operate

The friction coefficient of PTFE material is extremely low (0.02–0.10), and the valve seat has a self-lubricating effect, greatly reducing the resistance when the butterfly plate rotates. Whether manually operated or equipped with pneumatic/electric actuators, it can achieve rapid opening and closing with lower energy consumption.

  • ② Clean and Pollution-Free, Suitable for High-Purity Working Conditions

PTFE itself has strong chemical inertness, does not adsorb media, does not release impurities, meets FDA, GMP and other standards, and can be used for sterile media transportation in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical industries, as well as high-purity fluid pipelines in the electronic semiconductor industry.

  • ③ Wide Applicable Temperature Range

Under normal operating conditions, the temperature resistance range is -196 ℃ to 200 ℃, which can adapt to low-temperature cryogenic media and meet the transportation needs of medium temperature corrosive fluids.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q What is a PTFE-lined wafer butterfly valve?
A
A PTFE-lined wafer butterfly valve is a type of concentric butterfly valve where the inner cavity of the valve body and the butterfly plate surface are fully coated with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). This lining provides outstanding chemical resistance and enables zero-leakage sealing in corrosive or high-purity fluid systems.
Q What temperature range can this valve handle?
A
Under standard operating conditions, the valve is rated for -20°C to 120°C. The PTFE lining itself can withstand temperatures from -196°C to 200°C, making it suitable for both cryogenic and medium-temperature corrosive fluid applications.
Q Which industries are PTFE-lined butterfly valves suitable for?
A
These valves are widely used in chemical processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, food and beverage production, power generation, environmental protection, and electronic semiconductor industries — anywhere that corrosive or high-purity fluid handling is required.
Q Does this valve comply with food and pharmaceutical safety standards?
A
Yes. PTFE is chemically inert, does not adsorb media, and does not release impurities. It meets FDA and GMP standards, making it appropriate for sterile media transportation in food, beverage, and pharmaceutical pipelines.
Q What actuation options are available for this valve?
A
The valve supports handle/lever manual operation as standard. It can also be equipped with pneumatic or electric actuators for automated control. The low friction coefficient of PTFE (0.02–0.10) ensures minimal torque is required for operation regardless of actuation type.
Q How is the valve packaged for export?
A
The valve is packaged in standard export wooden cases, ensuring safe protection during international shipping and storage. This packaging method meets common export requirements and helps prevent damage during transit.
