Should I choose a wafer or a lug butterfly valve?

Wafer butterfly valves are lighter and more economical and are clamped between two flanges, making them ideal for standard water and HVAC lines. Lug butterfly valves have threaded lugs that allow dead-end service and removal of downstream piping without draining the whole line, which suits maintenance-critical systems.

Characteristics

The installation position, height, and inlet/outlet direction of gate valves should meet the design requirements, and the connection should be firm and tight. Handwheels, handles, and transmission mechanisms are not allowed to be used for lifting and collisions are strictly prohibited. Before opening a gate valve with a bypass valve, the bypass valve should be opened to balance the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet and reduce the opening force.
